The 135th Canton Fair brought together over 25,000 exhibitors and an estimated 200,000 international buyers this year, and the Higenset team was there for all five days of the event. New Factory Partnerships
This year, we formalized cooperation agreements with three additional generator manufacturers based in Fujian, Shandong, and Jiangsu provinces. These new partners bring specialized capabilities that expand the range of solutions we can offer our clients:
- Fujian partner: Specializes in containerized generator sets from 300 to 1,500 kVA, with particular strength in sound-attenuated enclosures for residential and hospital applications.
- Shandong partner: Focuses on gas generators (natural gas and biogas) from 100 to 800 kVA, a growing segment as more markets push for cleaner power solutions.
- Jiangsu partner: Produces high-efficiency diesel generators with Stage V emission compliance, essential for European and Australian buyers facing stricter environmental regulations.
With these additions, Higenset now works directly with 12 verified generator manufacturers across China, giving our clients access to a wider range of products, pricing options, and technical capabilities.
What We Heard From Buyers
We met with buyers from over 30 countries during the fair. A few clear trends emerged from our conversations:
African markets are booming. Buyers from Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and Tanzania are placing larger orders as infrastructure projects scale up. Mining and telecom remain the dominant applications, but hospital and shopping mall projects are growing fast.
Quality expectations are rising. Compared to previous years, buyers are asking more technical questions upfront. They want load test reports, compliance certificates, and factory audit details before placing orders. This shift plays to our strength, since factory verification and quality inspection are core parts of our service.
Silent generators are in demand. Nearly half the buyers we spoke with mentioned noise reduction as a priority. Urban projects, especially hospitals and residential complexes, need generators that meet strict noise level requirements.
Live Product Demonstration
One of our partner factories exhibited a 500 kVA sound-attenuated container generator at the fair. The unit generated significant interest, particularly from Southeast Asian and Middle Eastern buyers. We were able to walk our clients through the enclosure design, cooling system layout, and control panel features in person, which is far more effective than exchanging photos over email.
Looking Ahead
We’re already planning follow-up meetings with the most promising contacts from the fair. Over the next two months, our team will visit three of the new factory partners to conduct production audits and verify their quality management systems before recommending them to our clients.
